đź“– Sharing Your Faith with Others
Shockingly, it doesn’t require yelling at people!
Our goal at Theophilus is to make Jesus’ teaching accessible and relevant for all in the 21st century. Do you want to join that mission? Share the Theophilus Newsletter on social media or with friends and family and help others dive deeper into what it means to follow Jesus.

Tell me if this sounds familiar.
You’re walking through the city or driving down the street when, out of the corner of your eye, you spot one.
A street preacher.
Decked out with doomsday signs and a megaphone, they’ve strategically positioned themselves to draw as much attention as possible.
If you’re anything like me, you cringe at such a sight and pray no one realizes you share the same faith as this person.
After all, how could shouting your opinions at someone completely uninvited possibly go over well?
To clarify, I’m not knocking anyone who goes on the street to share their faith.
I know a few people who do this respectfully, and I’ve even tried it myself (which was torture for the introvert in me, but I digress).
What I am critiquing is taking the wrong approach.

The fundamentalist “Chick tracts” are perfect examples of how not to share your faith.
The problem isn’t sharing the Gospel; it’s sharing the Gospel in a way that does more harm than good.
Jesus didn’t really leave much up to interpretation when He said:
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
(Matthew 28v19)
Jesus’ plan was always to take His Way global.
Heck, you can even see that as far back as Genesis when He said to Abraham:
2 “I will make you into a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.”
But notice how Jesus said the goal was to “make disciples”?
Tell me, does shouting your opinions at someone (no matter how “right” they might be), make disciples?
This week on Theophilus, we’re going to explore how to share your faith in a way that aligns with what Jesus said… making disciples.

Jesus shared the Gospel in a way that changed others, how can we do the same?
As always, there’s no set formula for this.
What we’ll do is focus on three general principles that help this process:
Contextualization
Relationship
And expectation
Jesus’ commission is indeed great, the harvest is plentiful, and, yes, the workers are few.
So, let’s take this week to see what we can do about that.
Until tomorrow.
For now, be blessed.
